Condolences
I knew Chris from the Waterfront Hy-Vee and later the Coralville Hy-Vee. He was a kind and gracious man who went out of his way to assist me in many ways. I was saddened to hear of his passing. My prayers and condolences to his family.

I worked with Chris in Indianola. He was a really fun guy to be around and be teammates with for our Hy-Vee softball team. Hy-Vee has lost one of the really good directors. Absolutely stunned.
I was so saddened when I heard a fellow Eagle Scout was taken to eternity. I did not know Chris well but I knew his Grandparents and Uncles Darwin & Loren. Greg and Lori raised a good young man in the tradition of the Judge family (DeSaulniers too!) My thoughts and prayers go out to them as well as his wife and children. Thank you Chris for being an Eagle who soared through life and had an impact on so many. Lord, teach us that our days are numbered and to cherish those who are around us. I pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort family and friends in this time of loss.

Saddened for your loss: know that our baseball family will always be here for you
.
DeSaulniers Family,
I am so sorry, and share your grief. I spent a lot of time with our baseball teams this summer, and talking to Chris about how Noah and his teams were doing were very fun. Generous man, he was able to donate a pallet of bottled water for Iowa City West baseball before we even thought to request it. On behalf of Iowa City West athletics, I extend our condolences and know that we are here to support Noah and the family.
I am a fairly new employee at the Coralville 1Store where Chris was the director. Since my first day at work you always took the time to say hi or to ask how things were going. I watched you work hard and pitch in to help all over the store. You are gone too soon and I will miss you. Many many prayers for your family

The Trojans are behind you all 100%.
We are here if you need anything from us.
Greg & Julie, I can think of no greater loss than to lose a child. Greg, you may not remember me, but I was a year ahead of you at BC school, and I now live in Iowa City, where I’m a retired RN. When I saw your son’s obit in the paper, I just had to check to see who his parents are. I am so sorry for your loss. Chris (Franzenburg) McMorris.
Dear Julee and adorable family..I am so very saddened by the passing of your dear man...we spent many mornings at Hyvee for coffee and Chris always stopped by our table and said good morning to us...he truly was a bright spot to everyone who knew him..he was a very special young man and dear neighbor..I cannot imagine your pain at this sudden tragedy..my love and prayers..at this very difficult time..Linda Shaff
My sympathy to Chris' family. I was pleased to hire him as a member of our Camp Mitigwa Staff. He was a leader and a great example of service to others...
Camp Mitigwa Director, Tom Stoeber
I worked with Chris during his early years with Hy-Vee in Marshalltown. Outstanding among his peers, we all knew Chris was going places, yet very friendly, down to earth and unassuming. Chris always had fun at work and we enjoyed playing "name that artist" with the background music songs playing over the store intercom. He sold his red Cannondale road racer to me and we'd often talk bicycling. Chris was an all-around good guy and it saddens me that he was taken so soon. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends.
Greg, Lori and Chris's family.- May God give you all comfort and strength in the memories of this full of life, responsible, young man. Love to all of you.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Chris was a wonderful, thoughtful, trusted 10th grade friend. My condolences.
Greg and Lori....So sorry for your loss....The loss of a child is almost unbearable. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and you family during this time. May God comfort and bring you peace. In Gods love ...Martha and Bill Fisher
Chris was one of the most caring people that I have ever met. I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with him, and I know that the Iowa City area will not be the same without him. I give my thoughts and prayers to his family, and I hope I can live up to his level of commitment to life. He will be greatly missed by us all.
So sad to hear of Chris's passing. I absolutely adored him. He was the store director in Jefferson City. He was one of the very best.
Julie and family, you have my deepest sympathy
I will always remember Chris as one of the three Marshalltown campers that always wanted to be in my cabin at Church Camp in Cedar Falls. I was shocked to recieve the news, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and his parents during the time of sorrow
You are in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. May God bring you peace and comfort at this time. Dale and LeAnn Wilkerson

We knew of Chris and his family mostly through Grace Church in Marshalltown. He was a great guy and a very good role model for those younger than him. From all of the viewed tributes, it's easy to say that Chris continued on a giving and providing path throughout his life. He was taken too soon, but the memory of him will be with us forever. We extend out sincerest condolences to his wife and kids, DeLinn and her family and to Greg & Lori. - David, Judy, Nick Adland & Bianca Greazel
I worked with Chris at the hy vee in Ankeny when I was in college in the late 90's-early 2000's. He was very approachable and easy to get along with. I enjoyed working with him as he was always helpful and encouraging, especially in a time in my life where I still had no clue where I was going or what I wanted to do for the time being career wise. Rest in peace buddy.

Having a type 1 granddaughter thank you for all you did to support JDRF. You were such a special person. I will never forget Heathers UNI graduation party, I had to teach all you crazy boys the proper way to throw away used paper plates! We did laugh about that one! You always had a smile on your face and yes ma’am to me!!! You will be truly missed by everyone. Ron and Connie Dostal
