Obituary of Kenneth Shaw

Kenneth Lee Shaw, 76, of Iowa City, died Friday, September 25, 2020. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2020, at the Gay & Ciha Funeral Home, with funeral services to will follow at 1:00 p.m.. Ken was born January 28, 1944, in Iowa City the son of Ralph E and Margaret C. (Dohrer) Shaw. Kenny has always lived in the Iowa City area and for over 45 years worked for the University of Iowa as a pharmacy manufacturing technician. He was a simple man, not needing much in life. He loved going to the casino in Riverside, fishing, playing Uno with his family watching football (mostly the Hawkeyes) and professional wrestling. He liked listening to country music He loved his dog Jackson, they were best friends. Ken married Emy Lou Grizel in Dec of 1964. His family includes his children, Lucy Fincher (Roger), Carolyn Keely (Chad) and Ed Shaw (Misty); 13 grandchildren, James, Christopher, Stephanie, Adam, Matthew, Katherine, Emily, Chelsea, Mallory, Bianca, Makayla, Maddeline and Treyton; 13 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Olivia, Madison, Khloe, Seth, Averi, Charlotte, Rhett, Vivian, Everliegh, Harrison, Reagan and Kami; Ken’s brother, Jim Shaw and good friends. Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Fetters and grandson, Clayton. “Social distancing standards will be in place along with the expectation of all in attendance will be expected to wear a mask.
