I hadn’t seen Luther since I was in Iowa City about 20 years ago. I remember him vividly when we went to school together. Always quick with a joke, he could make anyone laugh at any time. He was also what I eventually dubbed an ambassador: a person who, regardless of social standing, could move freely in school and make friends. When I saw him briefly in Iowa City he was introspective yet still had his razor sharp wit. I think anyone that knew him, you mention “Luther Nash” and they would tell you a funny and happy anecdote. I’m so sorry for your loss but, wow, did he grace our lives, put smiles on our faces, and made us feel accepted.
