Obituary of Sheila Ann Krotz
Sheila Ann Krotz, 58, passed away on October 13, 2020 with family by her side. Sheila’s faith provided her peace at the end when the angels came to escort her home.
On November 10, 1961, Leo Krotz along with his wife Dolores celebrated his birthday by welcoming their beautiful baby girl Sheila into the world. She was the youngest of four children. Sheila was a resident of the Iowa City area her entire life staying close to family.
Sheila owned Petals Plus a homemade craft business selling her beautiful creations throughout the Midwest. She fought a courageous battle with an autoimmune disease for several years, but it never stopped her creative ideas. Sheila loved to travel and enjoyed exploring different cuisines. She was a “foodie!” Her nieces and nephews have fond memories of Aunt SheShe’s delicious pancakes which they still enjoy today.
Sheila will be sorely missed by her surviving family members: mother, Dolores Krotz; sisters, Vicki Krotz (Larry Fountain) and Jeanne Colestock (Bob Colestock); 4 nieces; Courtney Boudreau (Etienne), Samantha Colestock (Ryann), Jenna Gibson (Cameron), and Bethany Krotz (Tyson), 2 nephews; Daniel Fountain and Robert Colestock Jr, 7 great nieces and 3 great nephews. Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Leo Krotz and brother, Greg Krotz.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal. Sheila’s family have many memories to cherish. To share a thought, memory or condolence with her family please visit the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com. Sheila was cremated and will be buried at Oakland Cemetery next to her family. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, any funds we receive will go to the Palliative Care Unit at the University of Iowa Hospital. The Palliative Care Team treated Sheila with such respect and compassion during her final days. During their visits, we saw the importance of this type of care and wanted to support the program moving forward. If you would like to make a donation in Sheila’s Memory, please make your check payable to Dolores Krotz and send it to her at 442 4th Avenue, Iowa City, IA 52245.
