Obituary of Michael A. Rickette

Michael Rickette, 22, of Iowa City, died Thursday, October 29, 2020, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Michael A. Rickette Jr. was born on November 14, 1997, in Chicago, Illinois to Michael A. Rickette Sr. and Tonya T. Battle. During his childhood he relocated to Iowa City, and started attending Tate Highschool, where he graduated in 2017. He is survived by his mother, Tonya Battle; his father, Michael (Linda Williams); siblings, Raymond, Patricia, Mykah, Tonya, Kyreen, Damien, Michael, Alexis, and Deangelo; Grandfather, Charles Rickette, and Grandmother, Helene Williams, his girlfriend, Brittany Crowley, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother Louise Rickette, and Grandfather Jerry Battle. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm, Friday, November 6, 2020 at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Private Family Services will be held at 1 pm, on Saturday, November 7, at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. Social distancing standards will be in place along with the expectation that all in attendance wear a mask. The funeral home will provide masks for guests as necessary.
