Condolences
Dear Betty and the Lavely Family, I was saddened to hear of Calvin's passing and sorry for your loss. Calvin and his family were great neighbors and always there when needed. Calvin was always around when I found myself in a jam. When my brother slammed my fingers in a the car door, Calvin ran next door and unlocked the door as I wailed in pain. Another time, Calvin pulled me out of the hedge after I wrecked Jeff's motorbike and went flying into the hedge. He was a special man, always with a smile and helping hand.

Calvin was a very special man. I didn’t know him for long but I’m so grateful that I got to know him. Sitting and having a chat with him and listening to his life stories was always the highlight of my day. He had the biggest heart and would always get so teary eyed when talking about how much he loved his family. Calvin was a truly rare gem and I’m so sad that I won’t have a chance to speak to him again. Sending lots of love to all of his family and friends.
So very sorry to hear of Calvin's passing. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Dear Betty, I am sorry for your loss of Calvin. I got to know both of you at the Iowa City Saturday morning farmer’s markets. I bought many beautiful wood items, especially your rolling pins. I told Calvin this pin is going to the Czech Republic as a wedding present for friends. He was so pleased and gave me a hug! I always enjoyed talking to both of you at market!

A true quality family. A great group of people to know of solid values and kind hearts. Calvin always had a smile on his face. I knew him for many years as he and my father worked their careers at the Post Office. I went to school with three of Calvin's kids and enjoyed knowing all of them.
Fred and I had the opportunity to meet Calvin and Betty while dining at the casino with Jane. We all had a wonderful dinner and we spent the dinner swapping stories about bowling with Jane. My thoughts and prayers to Calvin's family. He was a good man and I will never forget the kindness he bestowed upon me and how hospitable he was to me being apart of the family. I will remember the fond memories I have visiting him and Betty at Farmer's market and going to visit them was a reason I began going so many years ago. He will be greatly missed.
Betty, this is Ron Purvis. I am the son of Don and Ted, and a high school classmate of Carol. My mind is clouded right now, as I just lost my sister a week ago, but when I saw the passing of Cal, I knew it rang a bell in my mind because my mother and dad spent a lot of time with you before they moved to Missouri. They talked of you so fondly and truly loved your friendship. My deepest sympathy on the loss of Cal. My prayers go to you and your family.
Please accept our sincerest condolences. Del & Pam Kissinger
Lovely family-
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your dad always had a smile on his face and no matter how long it had been since you ran into him or your mom he would always greet you as if it was just yesterday that we saw each other. Such a sweet and devoted man! Many hugs during this difficult time but memories of the good times will help you to heal.
