Obituary of Judy A. Beckler

Judy (Reeve) Beckler, age 76 of Tiffin, was lifted up to Heaven on Thursday, November 12, 2020. We will be celebrating the life of Judy with family and friends on Sunday, July 11th, from 1pm until 4pm at the “Beckler Barn”, 3096 Half Moon Avenue N, west of Tiffin. We have received so much love and support when Judy passed away, we ask that you bring your memories of her to share with everyone. Please no cards or gifts, your presence and prayers are more than enough. Judy was born April 23, 1944, to Margaret (Puschinsky) and Chester Reeve. She grew up on the family farm and knew what hard work was. She met Perry F. Beckler in high school and they have been together ever since (almost 60 years). They were married June 1, 1963. She has always stood by her man, whether it be following him hither and yon through his stock car racing career to helping create and build one of the most well-known auto body repair shops in the area, P. B. Body Shop in Tiffin, IA. The two of them had entrepreneurial spirits as they also ran the Tiffin General Store when they were first married. They had 3 children: Steve, Pam, and Kelly. One of her most favorite places to visit was Walt Disney World and the ride, “It’s A Small World”. Her own world was far from small. Through their busy lives raising their kids, racing and the body shop, Judy sold Tupperware in the early days to help make ends meet. She also somehow managed to find time to be very active in her church, Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin, active in the UMW both locally and regionally, as well as holding several regional positions. She was a 4-H leader for many years, and most recently, was on the Clear Creek Township Board of Trustees. She LOVED to dance and was wonderful at it too. She and Perry went dancing at area ballrooms every weekend they could in their younger years, and have been able to do that again now in their later years in the area they have spent their winters, Yuma, AZ. Anyone that knew her knows that feeding her birds was a staple in her daily life. She even kept track of the dates each year that her hummingbirds returned in the spring (which, by the way, was consistently the same week each year). She loved camping, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Iowa State Fair, and most of all her family and extended family. She did not know a stranger, and hardly ever went anywhere that she didn’t run into someone she knew from some path of her life, both in town and abroad. She is survived by her loving husband, Perry F. Beckler, her three children: Steve S. and his wife Vickie (Shimon) Beckler, Pamela F. and her husband Randy Devine, and Kelly J. and his wife Mary (Kinney) Beckler, eight grandchildren; Manny Sanchez, III, Miranda (Jesse) White, Andrew Beckler, Tyler (Sadie) Devine, Emily Devine, Zachary Devine, Madeline Beckler (Andrew Kramer), and Rachel Beckler (Jacob Nardone), and two great-grandchildren; Manny Sanchez IV, and Chandler White, brother Dick (Brenda) Reeve, and sister Carolynn (Bob) Smelser, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Margaret Reeve, and her in-laws, Velma and Perry Beckler. She was a great example of unconditional love, never ending-faith and devotion, and hard work. She will live on in all of us. Please understand that it was a very difficult decision to only hold a private service at this time, but this is coming from our love and concern for all amid the uncharted territory we are in currently. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
