To Tom, Emily and Gina,
I was so sad to hear of Gloria’s passing. She was such an elegant and caring woman. What a good friend she was to my mother. Deepest condolences to the whole family.

What a lovely, lovely woman! In more recent years I enjoyed running in to her at Hy Vee. Even there, I felt like I was the only person in the room when she greeted me with love and enthusiasm!! So sorry for your loss! love, Leora Rew Houghton
Gelman Family:

So sorry to hear of the passing of Gloria. Although I did not know her, She was a cousin of my mother, Muriel Cohen Rubin Katz, who passed away in 2019. We are related as my grandmother was an Oppenheim.I remember meeting Gloria's parents when I was young and of course I knew Ed and Inez Wertheimer. I still reside in South Bend. My condolences to the family. May her memory be for a blessing.

Sending my condolences! You never know who you will meet or how they will touch your lives. I met Gloria after I was assigned to read her electric meter. Without hesitation, Gloria always started conversation and invited me into her beautiful home with open arms. She was so generous, and told amazing stories from her past. I often got behind on my route because I would spend time listening to Gloria and sometimes her neighbors, but I never minded! I was unable to continue with the route so my mother took over and Gloria also befriended her. Gloria had an uplifting kind spirit and I was so glad to get to meet her.
Gelman’s,
So sorry to learn about the passing of your mom.
What a tough week, Gloria and Joan Houghton now both gone. They each had a chair at the table of The Greatest Generation. What a remarkable group that Potluck group was!
Best regards,
John Phelan

Gina, Tom, Emily, I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She was always so nice when I came to your house as a child and teenager. My mom just passed in Oct. and now Joan Houghton and your mother. Such a loss of some great ladies. Carol Rummelhart Litton
