Donald E. Leaman

Condolences
I taught with Don one year at West High. He and I worked together one summer selecting a computer text book for a computer class that was adopted by the district. It was always a pleasure to work with him. He was always comfortable with new technology and taught a workshop on using a “fancy” graphing calculator. He will be greatly missed.
I was sorry to see Mr. Leaman had passed away. He was a math teacher I had at West High in the late 60's or early 70's and I still fondly remember him. He was kind and patient and a very good teacher. He was a positive influence in my life. My condolences to the family.
I am both happy and proud to have Don considered as my friend. We spolved many of the world's problems on our many walks to and from West HS. My wife (Ann) and I extend our sincere sympathy for your loss.
I am putting this on for Lottie Yeries.
Don 's mother was a niece of my husband Lawrence. I've known him since he was 12 yrs. old. His parents came to visit us on the farm. Don liked to drive the tractor. I have a lot of memories of him. We talked on the phone a lot. He would come to visit me a lot, also. He would usually bring food he had cooked and we exchanged foods. He was a good cook! I give my condolences to the family. I would have liked to be at the service, but couldn't ,so I watched online. I will send a memorial contribution for the bird house. Lottie Yeries

I was so happy to see Don and Mary Margaret and Great Aunt Susie at Grandma LaRue’s funeral. I’ll always remember him as a kind, gentle and positive person and will never forget our family time together when we were kids! I was just looking at old photos from the early 70’s when we were all together for Christmas! Sending love and condolences to the whole family! ❤️
So sorry to read about your Dad. We were in the same class at Sloane Wallace Jr. High and West Waterloo High School. In fact, we were in a Bible Club at Sloane Wallace with our algebra teacher as director.
And now we have lost another Iowa City West High teacher. Your Dad was at Dale's visitation two years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
My condolences to Don's daughters and their family. He and Veral were our neighbors for years, and also my son Sean's math teacher at West High School in the 1980's. He was a lovely man, kind and generous to everyone he knew. He was one of Sean's favorite teachers. I am sorry for your loss.

Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. Our family has many wonderful memories of Don... dinner at Don's home, dinner at our condo, Christmas lights and a visit at a cousin's farm, etc. My Mother (Lottie) enjoyed reminiscing with Don about his childhood and time spent on the farm. More recently, She enjoyed their telephone visits and swapping recipes. Don loved his desserts. My husband Bob had Don as his math instructor at Newton High School. Don loved golf and on occasion when we were in Iowa City, Bob would play golf with Don. I enjoyed Don's love of shopping and the bargains he always found.
With warm thoughts and prayers,
Lottie Yeries

My sincere condolences to Don’s family. I alwasy felt very fortunate to have the oppotunity to work with Don at West High and much appreciated his ability to help kids learn math.
It was both an honor and a pleasure to care for Don. I looked forward to seeing him at The Bird House on my shifts there. We shared many stories together and he was so positive, he must have been an amazing teacher. He will be missed so much. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
