He attended rural school, St. Mary’s School in Iowa City where he met the love of his life and graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1953. On June 2, 1954 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Villhauer at St. Mary’s Church in Iowa City. The couple made their home near Solon where Paul owned and operated a electrical service business for a number of years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, driving his John Deere’s. Paul was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed playing various card games with his family and friends. But most of all, he was the epitome of a family man, his family was his world, over 66 years of marriage to his best friend, the many vacations through the years, supporting all his kids in their lives, and when the grandkids came along, well life just couldn’t be much better!
