Obituary of Sheryl A. Denny
Sheryl Anne (Walker) Denny age 30, formerly of Wilton died suddenly Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Grinnell Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, March 8, 2021, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with burial to follow at the McArtor Cemetery near Wellman, Iowa. These services can be viewed by family and friends through the livestreaming feature on the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com at Sheryl’s page under obituary. Visitation will be from 11 am until services Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to support Diabetes Research. Sheryl was born October 12, 1990, in Iowa City the daughter of Bruce and Sally (Hinkle) Walker. She attended schools in Wilton graduating with the Class of 2009. She then attended classes at Muscatine County Community College. She married Wayne M. Denny on October 25, 2014, in Wilton. The couple made their home in Deep River where she had continued her life passion as an independent artist. She was on staff of Anime Iowa, she enjoyed mentoring others, loved her music, playing piano, her cats, stage work, performances with the chance to see Wicked in Chicago topping on the cake! In high school she was in marching band and took German classes with the highlight of her senior year a trip to Germany.
Her family includes her husband, Wayne; parents, Bruce and Sally Walker; sister, Sarah Walker; Wayne’s family, parents, Richard and Sally Denny; brothers, Richard Denny, Leo Denny (Emily), and Michael Denny (Echo); Uncles and Aunts, Will Hinkle, Raymond and Denise Salemink, Bill and Mary Carr, Jill Petersen, Sandra Keim, Roberta Walker, David Sterner; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Annita, Kadaj, Vergil and Oliver; and of course Sheryl’s cats. She was preceded in death by an unborn child; her grandparents, and aunts and uncles, John Walker, Sharon Sterner, and George, Mike, and Mara Lee Hinkle.
