Obituary of Tina Brown

Tina Brown, 48, of Iowa City, died suddenly, Saturday, March 13, 2021. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm, on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, where Funeral Services will begin at 4 pm, and will be livestreamed. Tina was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Johnny Hugh Payton and Bessie Earl Smith (both who preceded her in death) on June 21, 1972. Later in life Tina was joined in Holy Matrimony to Jeffery Brown. This union bore no children; however, Tina did have four children from previous relationships. Her eldest and only daughter, Kimberly A. Fields(John Fields), Claudell L. Sheppard Sr., Marquis S. Sheppard, and Jeffory Sheppard. Tina was a force to be reckoned with, and all who met her took notice. She enjoyed being the center of attention as you can imagine that’s how she acquired the name “Hot Stuff”! She was witty; Tina enjoyed shopping, talking, dancing, and spending time with her loved ones; especially her grandchildren. Tina leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Jeffery Brown, four children, sisters- Betty & Geneva Smith, Dorothy Mae Payton-Lemon, brothers- William “Lloyd” Payton, Edward Bonds, Novontny “Bonnie” and Johnny Payton, Grandchildren, Jakari, Jakiah, John “Tre” Fields, Claudell “CJ”, Cayden, Camari’on, and Ariah Sheppard. Although Tina is no longer with us on earth, her memories will be forever cherished in our hearts.
