Condolences
Sorry we are so late with this but we just got the news down here in Kansas. Jan & I have so many fond memories of Barb and Bump when we were at Iowa and I was an assistant coach there. Barb and Bump always had the staff over to there place once a year and Barb always made us feel so welcome. She was a most gracious lady and will be missed. Jan commented to me last night that Barb was by far the best when it came to athletic directors' wives. I would agree! Our thoughts and prayers are with your family!
I am late in writing you all. I am a Theta and knew Barb from attendance at Theta alum events. I often saw her at basket ball games in years past also. I am sorry she is gone. She was such a lovely woman and so pretty. She was fun to know and such an active and wonderful woman. My condolences to you all. Margery Stell
Dear Bump and family,
I was so very sorry to see in the paper that Barbara had died. I knew her from football and the Lettermen's gatherings for almost 60 years.. She was such a lovely woman - always pleasant and friendly.
With sympathy, prayers, and love, Jean Deasy
Mr. Elliott & family,
I was so sad to hear that Mrs. Elliott had passed away. I have so many wonderful memories of the two of you, especially at Hawkeye basketball games. She was a very special lady, & she will be missed. My brother Mike (Tree) & I will keep your family in our thoughts & prayers.
We were so sad to hear of Barb's passing. She was a wonderful woman.
We send our prayers your way.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Elliott family. Barb was the GREATEST A.D.'s wife to help keep the coach's wives socialized, throughout all athletic sports! Loved coming to her house; met many friends through those times because of her thoughtfulness. She will be missed very much! God has gained another angel!!
It was always such a joy to have Bump and. Barbara stop and visit me on
the way in to do their banking. You have my sympathy in your loss.

On behalf of the women of Iowa City-Cedar Rapids Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, we wish to extend our sincerest condolences to Bump and the rest of Barbara's family. May the Twin Stars shine bright in all of our hearts because she was part of our lives.
Hi Elliotts:
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
The Posey Family
My favorite memory was at a dinner at Bump and Barb's house in the 1970's. She reminded me then and did all through my adult life as the ideal Mom. I never told her that. I was just happy to have two Moms in my personal memories.
Mary and I are thinking of you all in this time of sorrow. God Bless!
Words can not express our deep sadness on the passing of Barb. Please know we are thinking of the entire Elliott family at this time. We wish we could be with you in person but unfortunately we are not in Iowa City at this time.
I have very fond memories of dear "Mrs. E", and I know she will be greatly missed by her wonderful family and great friends. All my love to a very special family.
Bill, Jan, and all the Elliott family, we are so sorry to hear about Barbara's death. Bob and I hope your many good memories of her, and our heartfelt concern and prayers, will comfort you today and in the days ahead.
Bump and the Elliott family,
So sorry to hear of the loss of Barbara. She had such a long, productive, wonderful life. Hopefully the thoughts and prayers of your many friends and colleagues will give you strength at this difficult time. We're thinking of all of you!
I met Barb when I was the librarian at Hills Elementary. She was one of our Rocking Readers. She was so kind to the children who were matched with her. She and Bump came every week unless they were on the road. When in the road they would send postcards to the students. ❤ I am thankful that I was able to know her.
Our families' paths cross again at Hoover Elementary. Joey taught our daughter Erin and I taught her children Spanish.
My heart goes out to your entire family. The entire Iowa City community knows what a great woman you have lost.
Barb was a lovely, lovely person just brimming with grace! She was a wonderful ambassador for the University of Iowa as a partner to Bump in hosting gatherings of athletic department personnel. She will be missed!!!!! We are in Chicago babysitting and other wise would not miss her services! Sending love, leora and Steve Houghton
Barbara and I served on the Hillcrest board together, many years ago. She was so articulate, wise, and caring in all our interactions. It was my privilege to know her. Such a loss to the community, in addition to her family's loss. My thoughts are with you all.
Bump, Bill, Bob and Betsy- Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss. You have a great family and I'm sure Barb was the guiding force in making that happen. May she rest in peace.
