Good Morning,
My memories of Chuck (we did not need to call him Dr. Abel!) are from my days as a graduate student at the University. He was always supportive, caring, and the “Go To Person” in the Social Work program when I was grad student in 72-73. He was on my thesis committee. He challenged me to be a better person and Social Worker. His mentoring helped lead to 40 year career as a Medical Social Worker at University of Iowa Hospitals.
I recognized that big smile the instant I saw his picture this morning.
My heart is with all of his family. Please know that your father and grandfather truly made a difference.
