Jimmie L. Schropp was born September 25, 1954, the son of Clarence and Margaret (Klein) Schropp. Following graduation from Clear Creek High School he began a career with Amana Refrigeration later becoming Whirlpool Amana that lasted over 41 years before his retirement at the age of 59 1/2. Jimmie married his junior high school sweetheart, Kriss Ann Stratton on January 6, 1979, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
The slogan, he never met a stranger was Jimmie! No matter young or old, farmer or banker, male or female, Jimmie just could not say hi, sit for awhile and shoot the bull, or in many cases find a way he could help you, no matter what the need. He was a simple man that enjoyed his world, counted his blessing and was willing to share anything he had with you. He loved the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing, his large gardens, canning the fruits of their labors, making jerky from their hunts. He appreciated his guns and respected them, often willing to share his knowledge and skill with the younger generations. Enjoyed milling trees to provide wood for burning. And of course, he loved his animals, everything from the pets to the livestock and those in between, never a shortage of creatures on the Schropp homestead. But he would be the first to tell you, his family and friends was all he needed to be happy, ok maybe throw in his old chevy and his cowboy boots too!
His family includes his wife, Kriss; their daughters, Shania Schropp and Randi Daniels and her husband, Nick; siblings, Eugene Schropp, Carol Dolezal (Bill), Marilyn Brenneman (Elmer), Beverly Tolley, Tom Schropp (Julie Weidler), John Schropp and Peggy Grove (Gary); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Darlene Bryn; and his brothers, Donnie and Ronnie Schropp.
