Obituary of Martha Jean Johnston

Martha Jean Johnston died at Oaknoll Retirement Residence on May 21, 2021. Martha was the daughter of Ernest and Daisy Johnston of Joliet, Illinois, and sister of Phyllis Floyd. She was a graduate of the University of Dubuque, and School of Medical Technology at St. Luke’s Hospital of Cedar Rapids. She worked at many hospitals in this area. She was a member of many technology groups. Martha was an avid china painter and belonged to several of their organizations. She was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Iowa City and a United Methodist Woman. Martha was laid to rest with her mother and father at Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake, Iowa. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
