Obituary of Dennis G. Carlson

Dennis G. Carlson, 72 of Oxford, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021. A time celebrating Dennis’s life will be held from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the Oxford United Methodist Church. Dennis George Carlson was born December 4, 1948, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the son of George W. and Eunice L. (Nading) Carlson. He graduated from MarMac High School in 1967, and shortly after began a career with Amana Refrigeration that would span over 40 years before his retirement. Dennis loved the outdoors for his archery, hunting and fishing. For a number of years he worked as a private detective, but most of all he loved his family and friends! His family includes his mother, Eunice Carlson; his wife, Teresa E. (Scheffert); their three daughters, Dawn Frees (Bobby), Tracy McDowell (Joel) and Misty Shaw (Ed); 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; 6 siblings, Sue Thomas (Mike), David Carlson (Laura), Richard Carlson (Wendy), Roger Carlson (Jan), Sandy Steele (Gerry), and Sharon Yeazle (Rick). Dennis was preceded in death by his father and grandson, Clayton.
