Condolences
Larry, Barb, Keeley and extended family,
So sad to hear of Nick's untimely passing. It is always difficult to say goodbye but nothing is harder than saying those words to someone who had their whole life before them. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the family at this very difficult time.
Barb
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. There is nothing we could say or do to ease this loss, but offer our sympathy prayers.

To The Seaton Family:
So very sorry for your loss--losing a child must be the hardest sentiment to endure. We did let Whitney and Allyson know of his passing. He was a great kid and very good looking. May you all find inner peace knowing that he is in a better place. Prayers and thoughts are with you all.
Jan & Jim Barnes
Oh Duece Bigalow, as dad would always say, where do I begin..when you first came to Keota I remember telling my parents I thought you were an odd guy who just followed everyone around at the roost and wasn't sure about you, but obviously that changed quickly and you became like an older brother to me. I knew I could go to you for anything and everything and you'd treat me like your own. Most times id be with mom and dad id never forget to ask "where's duece?" we got so use to having you around and being out at our house. I will never ever forget the morning we're waiting for you on the golf course and you were running pretty late then all of a sudden you come cruisin' up with your hair greased back as slick as possible with just a "mild" hangover. that's the nick I'll never forget, and our constant bullshitting back and fourth like brother and sister. I will always cherish the funny texts and pictures I got with you on the night you passed, forever and ever. There are too many memories and the list could go on and on you were that great of a guy. I can hear you saying "COURTneyyyy" right now everytime I pull up somewhere in that voice. You're greatly missed, and it's so sad it happened like this but I've got an amazing angel watching over me and my family and everyone else now. Rest In Peace, Duece. I love you!
Barb, and Family,

To Nick's family, my deepest sympathy. Cannot imagine the shock and despair you must be going through. Know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Nick was such a good friend. Over the past few years I've spent a lot of time hanging out with him. Whether it was poker night at Botch's or at the VFW, playing bags at The Roost, or probably our favorite past time of golf Nick was always fun to be around. Nick just fit. I'll really miss the constant back and forth bantering. Most of all I'm just going to miss my friend. My sincerest condolences to Nick's family.
Oh Nick! Gone way too soon! I'm shocked and heartbroken. Boy did we have fun at West! I'm so glad to hear you made a fab life for yourself! May god give your family the strength to grieve and remember you. And please say hi to my lil brother Jerry up there!
My heart goes out to Nicks Family and loved ones! I was close to Nick back in my Coralville days! Spent a lot of time fishing and playing sports with Nick! He was a great guy and he had a lot of heart! He will always be in my prayers. God bless.
Nick was an outstanding associate and person who we truly cherished. May he rest in peace
My sincere condolences to Nick's family. Gone far too soon.
Oh Barb, I wish I could be there for you. I am so sorry. Know that I am with you in spirit
My sincere sympathy to all who loved Nick. His personality had a profound affect on all who met him. I am blessed to have met him. Nick....you will be missed at Civco...
Dear Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will be thinkng of you as you go through this trying time.
My deepest and most sincere condolences go out to Nicks family, relatives and friends. Even though I truly didn't know him on a personal level, he was always quick to speak and offer a helping hand if needed. I really don't know who is going to help me maneuver this "smart-phone" Nick, now that you aren't here to show me the tricks....
You sure touched a lot of hearts during your life here in Keota and will be deeply missed each and every time there is a function where we all gathered. You will not be forgotten as you continue on in this next chapter in your life.
Thanks for the memories... :)
Nick, Had some goods times together. I always enjoyed our chats in the garage. Lots of laughs and easy to talk to. Still laugh about the swimming adventures! You loved it even if it was freezing! :) I didn't get to meet all of your family, but I do remember meeting your sis Keeley and Slick, and the kids. They are nice and welcoming, just like you. God Bless you my Coors Lite cohort.
I worked with Nick for 2 1/2 yrs and he will be missed greatly by myself and CIVCO. Nick's work ethic was among the best. He enjoyed what he did as a Machinist. Nick and I would visit for about 15 minutes per day at the beginning of his shift to discuss what had transpired during the day. Often I would ask how he did at golf that day because that seemed to be a daily event for Nick in the warm weather. I am going to miss Nick not only as a co-worker but as a friend too.

Barb, I was very saddened to hear of your sudden loss. May fond memories bring you comfort. Jane Kopsa
Nick will be greatly missed by his friends and coworkers, my deepest sympathies to the family-
Nick will be missed so very much by our family. We thought of him as one of our own and treated him like he was too. I remember so well when Nick moved to Keota, we would run into him at the Roost and he'd jump in a conversation just like he had known the people having the conversation for years and that's how it felt with Nick like he had known us and we had known him for years! He would get in and go along to wherever we all were going many times, or he'd be waiting for you on the course to golf from sunrise to sunset! Golfing will not be the same without him, what will we do without him cruising the course on Friday night couples stopping and chatting at about every hole :(, he's going to be missed by so many of his Keota friends , his second family for sure. Moto and I would look forward to seeing him on Friday nights, we truly would . Our hearts ache knowing he's gone. We love you Nick 2/Deuce, we will always remember all the laughs we had because we had many! I hope you are dancing as was my last memory of you and I dancing in the garage to country music, yes country, he hated country music but Friday night buddy you danced to it like you had been a fan forever! ;) Love and miss you friend ~ David (Moto), Barb and Courtney Jaeger ~ Keota, IA
Nick was always such a friendly fellar to be around! Conversations at the Roost won't be the same-he will be very missed by many! He always had a kind word, a smile on his face, and a beer in his hand--that is the Nick 2 I will remember! My deepest sympathy to his family, the world lost a good soul far too soon!
Hey Keeley, I am so sorry to read of the loss of your brother. My deepest sympathies.

Barb, Larry and family. My deepest sympathy for your sudden and tragic loss. May the support of your friends, family and God's love see you through this sorrow. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Pat Kosier
My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Nick 2 was both a coworker and a Roost friend. Nick was always an easy going guy with a smile and since of humor. Nick will be missed by many, he was a great guy.(Nick when you reach your destination tell Steamer I miss him, don't worry he'll look after you). May you rest in peace. Nancy West
My thoughts and prayers are with all of Duce's family and golf course buddies. God bless you all and give you strength through this difficult time. RIP Duce.
Larry and Barbara, my heart hurts for your family. It seems impossible to make sense of why this happened. I never did personally meet your son, but I wanted you to know that your daughter, Keeley, is an amazing friend and I'll be here for her to help her through losing her only brother. She has shared several fun stories of Nick over the years. I pray that God's gentleness will be felt as He wraps His loving hands around your family in this time of need. Respectfully, Joellen Jepson
To all my brother's second family in Keota, I am looking for any pictures that you might have of Nick. Would love to get some shots of him on the golf course or on his golf cart, but really would love to see any you have. Please email them to me at keeley-carter@uiowa.edu.

We will miss Nick a great deal. He was the guy that was always around, going places with us, hanging out with us, a bit like a kid brother to all of us. His quick wit and easy laugh made it easy to like Nick. He was always challenging someone in a bet, a game of golf, bags, or sports trivia and like most of us, enjoyed winning, but never forgot to fulfill his debt if he came up on the losing side. You just couldn't help but like the guy. Our hearts are breaking for you, the family, and please know that the town of Keota feels the void left by this. We pray that you feel, even from afar, the arms of those of us in Keota who considered Nick a part of the family around you during this difficult time. Our sorrow is made somewhat easier knowing that we now have a special angel looking over us. With deepest sympathy , Kelly and Gina Bennett.
Larry
