Obituary of Jaime Aviles

Jaime Aviles, age 38, passed away August 3, 2021 in Iowa City, Iowa. Jaime’s family will receive guests at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service on Saturday, August 7th, from 3-6 pm, concluding with a memorial service at 6 pm, also at the funeral home. Jaime was born May 28, 1983 in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Juan and Catalina Aviles. Jaime was a very kind, funny and at times, sarcastic guy who loved his family and self expression. He was gifted in many things; artist, tattooing, woodworking and was skilled in designing shoes were all within his interests. He enjoyed fishing and loved to visit his “hometown” Mexico. He was a kind and strong soul and his memory will continue on in our hearts. Surviving Jaime is his cherished mother, Catalina; sisters, Macrina Aviles, Heidi Aviles and Maria (Lorenzo) Aguilera; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Sadly, Jaime is preceded in death by his father, Juan Aviles. Please continue to keep Jaime’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
