Nancy, I was very sorry to hear about your mom. She sounds like a wonderful and fun lady!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family. Please give my condolences and hellos to Lindsay and Ryan. Sue
I shared this in our UI Admissions Office meeting today:
Birdie Kos was a long-time Admissions Office employee in Calvin Hall who passed away this past Monday at the age of 91. I would just like to acknowledge her friendship as a colleague and being part of our Iowa Hawkeye family.

Several of us are still in the Admissions Office who worked with Birdie!! We all loved her!! She always asked about my girls, we talked about softball, and chatted about common Riverside connections. What a nice lady. What a fortunate family that you had her.

Birdie was a Rose of a woman…great lady! God bless the Kos Family & Friends….Rest in Peace Birdie.
So sorry for your loss Trudy, Linda, Deb and Nancy! I remember all the games we played together and your mom in the stands cheering us on. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Although I did not know Alberta personally, I enjoyed the brief connections each week delivering her Meals on Wheels lunch. She voiced a pleasant greeting as the meal was placed inside her door. Her love of gardening was evident in the seasonally decorated front yard and entrance. Though known only briefly, she will be missed by me and others who had a chance to be graced by her presence.

I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Birdie for a short time when I had a student position in Admissions when I was in college. Birdie was always very nice, helpful and fun to be around. I feel like she actually may have helped me get the job, as she knew my family, and I think she and my Dad (Paul Simon) were in the same high school class. She was a great lady. May she rest in peace.

To all you great Kos girls. My sympathies for your loss of your mom. I can still remember her in the stands faithfully cheering on the Hawkettes! May your memories of her give you solace during this time.
You have my sympathy. She was always fun for me to be around and told great stories about my dad and the other aunts and uncles. She liked to laugh. Charla liked her and enjoyed visiting her.
Girls I am so sorry for your loss. God only takes the very best. She will always be with you in your hearts. Hugs

Trudy, Linda, Deb, & Nancy,
What a special mom you had! She raised wonderful girls, and was so proud of all of you.
I feel honored to have spent time with her over the years.
Her work here is done.
She got her angel wings.
Looking down at her precious family she loved so much.
