Obituary of Hollie Ann Laschke

Hollie Laschke, age 67, passed away November 20, 2021, in Iowa City. Hollie’s family will receive guests for visitation at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City) on Tuesday, November 30, from 4-7 pm. A further celebration of life potluck will held for Hollie on Saturday, December 4 from 1-4 pm at the Iowa City VFW (609 Hollywood Blvd STE 2, Iowa City). Hollie was born September 10, 1954 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of William and Marilyn (Luse) Laschke. Hollie was a quiet, stubborn and strong-willed woman who loved her family deeply. Her children and her grandchildren were her world. Hollie enjoyed spending time watching the Disney channel with her grandkids, and crime shows with her children or by herself. She would cut coupons when time allowed, and she got satisfaction out of getting a good deal. Hollie also enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes, not so much watching them play, but she would ask her children what the score was and who won. Hollie’s legacy will continue through her family and friends. She will be missed. Surviving Hollie are her cherished children, Jennifer (Maurice) Quiram and Brian Laschke; grandchildren, Erin Hintz, Cheyenne Hintz, Payton Quiram, Rylea Quiram, Sophie Quiram, Brandon Cole, Daimian Laschke, Malachi Laschke and Kayla Laschke; siblings, Ruth (Dennis) Woods and Susan (Gilbert) Phelps; mother, Marilyn Laschke. Sadly, Hollie is preceded in death by her father, William Lashke; and siblings, Harvey Lashke and Mary Jo Kannack. Memorial contributions for Hollie are suggested to the Iowa City Children’s Hospital. Please continue to keep Hollie’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
