Obituary of Ronnie Gray Sr.

Ronnie Gray, Sr. of Iowa City, died Saturday, November 27, 2021. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Ronnie Gray Sr. was born on June 3rd, 1968, to the union of Lewis Gray Jr. and Fannie Mae Gray. Ronnie affectionately known as "Worm" was raised in Chicago, IL. There he attended school and worked for Calumet Rubber Co. In 1990, Ronnie met the love of his life Lisa. They raised six children together: Jennifer, Velma, Kitty, Ronnetta, Jalisa, and Ronnie Jr. They married on November 2, 2002. In January of 2008 Ronnie and Lisa relocated to Iowa City, IA to provide a better environment and better opportunities for their children. Ronnie loved to have a good time. He spent many weekends surrounded by family and friends listening to his "oldies" music or just hanging out. Ronnie was very friendly and could talk to anyone about anything. He made friends wherever he went and he made sure he always looked good. Ronnie had a warm heart and will truly be missed. Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Hood-Gray. His parents Lewis Gray Jr. and Fannie Mae Gray. His father and mother in law, William and O'neil Hood. His sister Mandal Gray. Two brothers, Willie and Ernest Gray, and one Brother in law William Hood Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Ronnie Gray Jr. and five daughters, Ronnetta Gray, Jalisa Gray, Kitty Hood, Velma Hood and Jennifer Hood. Two sisters, Leola Gray and Valerie Pickens. Five brothers, Davie, Lewis, Nathan, John, and Charles Gray. One sister in law Kitty Hood. 13 Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
