Obituary of Lillian Williams

Lillian “Lollie” Williams, age 63 of Iowa City died Friday, December 3, 2021, at Hospice of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Lillian “Lollie” Williams was born on December 18, 1957 in Alton, Illinois. She is one of ten children to Flora and Benjamin T. Washpun. She attended Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church as a youth; where she was baptized and accepted Christ. At the time of her passing, she was a believer in Christ. She attended Alton Senior High School graduating in 1975. Following graduation, she joined her family in Iowa City and found her love for modeling and fashion. During that time she met the love of her life, Robert “Bobby” Williams. They married on June 27, 1992 and had two beautiful daughters, Taylor & Lashere. She made a career as a secretary, working at the University of Iowa for over twenty years. To further her career, she took classes at Kirkwood Community College. She was full of life enjoying time at the casinos, traveling and shopping. One of her favorite things was to listen to captain Steve on the KCJJ radio station. Lollie is most known for her huge heart and bubbly personality. She was selfless, generous, sincere, and was always there for her family and friends. She was the life of the party at all family events. Preceding her in death are her parents, three sisters Willie Mae Moore, Narvatine Searles, Linda Jackson, her brother Bentley Washpun, and the love of her life Robert Williams. She leaves behind two daughters Taylor Williams and Lashere Williams. Surviving Lollie, to cherish her memory, are Eula Davis (Tim) from Iowa, her twin sister Lillie Perry from Iowa, Earl Washpun (Jeradeane) from Illinois, Denita Johnson from Texas, Troy Washpun from Iowa, two aunts, one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Church of the Nazarene in Iowa City with burial to follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
