Larry F. Jiras
1939 - 2021
Condolences
My sympathies to your family. Larry was a beautiful soul, his smile was kind and infectious.
Reading through the many, many condolences, a stranger could really get an idea of the sort of man Larry was. He was a most generous gentleman with his time and energy, giving so much of himself to the Oxford community....never forgetting to smile the whole time!!
There could never be anyone to replace him. Smile on, Larry!
This is what Larry is looking at now:
"The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass."
"The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the Glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is it's lamp."
The great Book of the Revelation 21: 21 and 23.
Sorry to hear of Larry's passing. My thoughts and prayers are w/ Eileen, Jeff, Jason and the entire family.
I was saddened to hear of Larry’s passing. He was always smiling & friendly to all! The town of Oxford will miss him! My sympathies to the entire family.
Our deepest condolences to the Jiras family. Wishing you peace and strength during this difficult time. Bonnie Evans, Sally and Mike Attwood.
Smiley saw this today and he was very sorry to read it. He remembers your family and he said he had been to your place. He said you have a wonderful family and remembers Tammy and Paulette plus Eileen and Larry. Smiley enjoyed watching the girls play ball. Smiley is at Clover Ridge Place in Maquoketa. Eileen, our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Larry truly represented all the good qualities of a life well lived. He demonstrated this by the love he showed for his family; and his dedication to the various organizations in Oxford in which he served. He was always willing to give a helping hand to those that needed assistance. There is no doubt he was greeted in Heaven by friends and family with "Well done my good and faithful servant!"

Eileen, I am so sorry for you and your family’s loss. Larry was such a kind, fun loving man. You both were such a big part of my kids lives as their day care provider and their partners in adventure. They still talk about riding to the pond, lambs in the kitchen, riding on the combine, milking cows and wonderful breakfasts and lunches. You both gave me such security knowing my kids were well cared for and able to experience many of the wonderful things I did as a kid on my Grandpa’s farm. I will forever be grateful for the positive example and the love he showed them. He truly will be missed by all.
Sorry to hear of Larry's passing. He was always someone you could depend on a smile and a quick wave. Prayers to all of you and may God surround you with comfort.

I’ll always remember Larry with his dry wit and smile. There are no words to totally convey what a wonderful man he was-
Heaven gained a good one, for sure!
Uncle Larry always greeted me w/ "cherreee!" And I responded "larryyy!" Darian said his smile always looked a little like he had a funny secret that he wasn't gonna tell you. . .our whole family loved him. Our love to aunt Eileen, Paulette, Tammy, Jason and Jeff. Wish we could be there.
To Eileen and family. I'm so sorry that Larry has left not only you, but this entire community. I do know that he's in a good place though. I cant begin to tell you about all the times that he had donated his time to help me and this town when it was needed. He would never take compensation for helping to clean snow, or lending a piece of equipment either for the town or myself. Eileen was our daycare provider and can remember a day when my daughters did not want to leave because they had not seen Larry all day. I got them home and let them watch from the garage when he eventually got back with his fuel truck. They ran over to the bulk plant and he spent about an hour talking to them as they ate peanuts. Wish the world was full of Larry's. Cant say more than that.
