A Go Fund Me Page has been established in his memory @ gofundme.com/f/heath-kauffman. To share a thought, memory or condolence please visit the funeral home website @ www.gayandciha.com. Heath David Kauffman was born February 12, 1974, in Iowa City the son of Robert C. and Suzann M. (Stanfield) Kauffman. For many years he attended school in the Highland School District, here he was one of the managers for the basketball team in high school where he earned his letter jacket thanks to a number of generous students and teachers. His disability forced him to transfer to Mid-Prairie district for the special education program, but his family moved to Iowa City where Heath finished high school at Iowa City West graduating in 1994. Heath was a quiet soul, who would listen far more than speak. His strong faith was evident by his involvement in a number of churches in his lifetime, mainly Full Gospel Church of Kalona and Good News Bible Church in Iowa City. Not only was his thirst of the gospel fed, but he loved the fellowship of all those he met at church. He supported the Iowa Hawkeyes, West High Trojans, enjoyed going to the Ped Mall for concerts, liked being on Facebook, and cherished his memories of his trip to Ireland with Camp Courageous. Heath was proud of his employment opportunities through Kelly Services, Goodwill and Systems Unlimited working in the Iowa City area. Because of this he was able to live on his own with excellent support from many good people along the way. His family includes his parents, Suzann Kauffman, Robert Kauffman (Julie); sisters, Heather Kauffman and Stacie Kauffman; brother, Dylan Dingbaum; nephews, Tyler Howard and Logan Howard; niece, Rayven Newson; and his favorite family members, his 4-legged fury niece and nephew, Dyna and Buddy. Heath was preceded in death by his grandparents and 4-legged niece and nephew, Harley and Buster. Heath was a quiet, unassuming, funny, gruff, grumpy old man in a shell that wasn’t great, but this man beat all odds, was determined and strong and always left you smiling or laughing. For sure a good memory for all!
