Obituary of Todd Michael Farrell

Todd Michael Farrell pass away peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 at The University of Iowa Hospital. Todd was born to Dolores (Dee) and Richard (Dick) Farrell in Pocahontas, Iowa on November 29th, 1973. He was the first of two children followed by his sister Melanie. Todd attended Cresco High School in Cresco, Iowa where he graduated in 1992. After high school he attended the University of Iowa. While taking a break from university he kept himself busy working various jobs. One of those jobs was at ACT where he met a beautiful young administrative assistant that changed his life forever. Todd and Tami were married June 19th, 1999 in Iowa City. From then on the two were inseparable. So much so that they were referred to as one entity, TNT (Todd & Tami). After marriage Todd decided to return to The University of Iowa to finish his education. He graduated from the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the university in 2002 with a degree in Finance. After graduation Todd became a successful financial advisor for several years. His wife, Tami, had been battling an auto-immune disease for the last few years of her life. During that time Todd was able to transition his career to work from home and become a full time caregiver to his wife. By making this change Todd was able to maximize his time with Tami until her passing in 2019. Afterwards Todd remained in Iowa City and continued working as a financial advisor for Cambridge. Todd had most recently been on sabbatical since the end of 2020. Todd was a devoted husband first and foremost. His wife Tami meant everything to him. His second passion was his love of music. He was a talented musician and lyricist. One of his greatest accomplishments in life was finding a way to combine the two. He and Tami spent countless hours collaborating, writing, and recording music. When they were not recording music they were listening to music and attending live shows. Todd was fierce and generous friend. Todd and Tami were famous for their hospitality, hosting countless gatherings with friends and family in their home. Lastly, Todd was a baseball fanatic. His love for the sport developed early on collecting baseball cards and playing Strat-O-Matic Baseball. He was the most passionate Phillies fan (in Iowa) and huge supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes. He is survived by his parents, Richard (Dick) Farrell & Dolores (Dee) Farrell, his stepfather, Randy Buchheit, his sister, Melanie Smith (Nick), his sister and brother Rachel & Daniel Farrell, mother and father in laws: Gail Stika, and Bob and Edyie Stika; his brothers-in-law, Nick Stika (Dawn) & Rob Stika (Lisa), his niece and nephews, Ronan, Finn, & Desmond Smith, Jesse Stika, Samantha Price (Steven), Tyler & Jacob Stika, his grand-niece and grand-nephew, Kendra Bruegge & Jaxon Price. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Tami (Stika) Farrell, his paternal grandparents Bud & Lula Farrell, his maternal grandparents Red & Marian Sorensen, and by his and Tami’s Great Pyrenees, Ellie.
