Obituary of Larry C. Kasparek

Larry C. Kasparek, age 77 longtime North Liberty resident died at his home Saturday, April 16, 2022, surrounded by the love of his life, Susan and their dog, Chewy. We celebrate Larry's life. We thank him for the love and happiness he gave us all. We miss him so very much. Larry fought a courageous battle against cancer. We rejoice his passing. He is at peace now. What a wonderful time to go back to our Lord at Easter weekend. Larry leaves behind his family and loving wife best friend Susan Barkalow, daughter Michelle Presiner (North Carolina), son Chad (Allison) Barkalow their daughters Zoe, Annabella, and Maddie (England), son Derek Barkalow (Cedar Rapids), Cole (Wendy) Johnson with their children Johanna and Parker (Cuba City, Wisconsin), godson Terry (Trish) Breese (Colorado), and of course Chewie. Preceding him in death his parents Wesley and Erma Kasparek, and Ben Deseldo, brother Kenny Kasparek, and in-laws Herb and Daisy Green. Larry was a proud member of the Solon American Legion. He loved playing cards, fishing, boating and tractor pulling. Special thanks to Dr. Furquan and his team at the University of Iowa Hospitals for caring for Larry. I can still see the love and compassion in Dr Furquan's eyes. Special thanks to Hospice. They were wonderful to us. Special thanks to Angelica our nurse - she went above and beyond. Larry and I love her. Special thanks to Jenny Damon my neighbor and friend who supported me in Larry's cancer journey to his last breath. We have so many friends and family who have supported us through Larry's journey back to his Lord. Thank you doesn't seem enough. Special thanks to Dan Ciha for caring for Larry and I through this difficult time. Larry's wishes were to have no funeral services.
