Obituary of Phyllis R Adams

Phyllis Adams, age 91, passed away May 7, 2022. Phyllis’ family will receive guests at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City) on Wednesday, May 11 from 2-4, concluding with a memorial service at 4 pm. Phyllis was born May 17, 1930 in Altamont, Missouri; the daughter of S.H. Murray and Hallie West. Phyllis’ father worked with the railroad throughout her life and the railroad was a source of inspiration and comfort for her. Phyllis worked throughout her life as a Senior Coordinator for National Computer System and later worked part-time at HyVee. Phyllis’ kind nature will be missed, but her memory will live on through all that love her. Phyllis is survived by her cherished daughter, Jennifer (Daryl) Zahradnek and her dog, Bandet. Sadly, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Adams; son, Mark Adams; siblings, Pat, Bill and Bob; her granddaughter and her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Iowa City Hospice. Please continue to keep Phyllis’ family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
