Enjoyed Leo immensely in the mud 70’s “working with the convicts at Harvestore,” as we called it. Several of us were sitting visiting in the motel after setting up the Harvestore Iowa Stare Fair display. Someone asked, “What is the best experience in your life?” Lots of turns were taken citing tender moments of parents, spouses, and children. When Leo came up he said, “In January when I was in third grade I got a fourth-grader to lick the slide.” Most of my happy memories of that time involve Leo. And he would have been a great auctioneer.

Saddened to hear of Leo's passing, I got to know Leo when he was hauling gas out of the pipeline I worked at in Coralville. I always enjoyed his friendly banter and great sense of humor. Godspeed Leo we will meet again someday on the other side.

I had not seen Leo in many, many years, life moved us apart, but my fond memories and laughter with him in the West Liberty, Atalissa days are Grand!

Hard to believe, but "WE" bought our 1st underage 6-pack of Schlitz together in the 60's. We paid $6.00 for a six-pack & then stuffed in in the shelled corn in the back of his dad Vick's pickup. It was winter and we went out later to enjoy our purchase - - - and it was froze solid!!! We didn't spend our $3.00 each wisely, but I have never forgot and we laughed about it many times!

Leo was a good friend.

Sorry to hear of Leo's passing. I remember him as a youngster when I was friends with his brother Vic and his wife Karen.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Leo always joked around with me. Have known him for 50 years. He was one of the good ones.

My thoughts and prayers to all of Leo’s family members. I’ve knew Leo from the horse shows. He was sure proud of his granddaughters.
