I was privileged to know Chuck while he was living in the SF Bay Area. He was always such a sweet, deeply caring person and so much fun to talk to. I used to pick his brain about science because he was incredibly brilliant and he loved to answer my questions with great detail. He also loved his beautiful kitties very much and always made sure they were happy. I am sad to hear that he passed away. My sincere blessings to his family for their loss.

I lived down the street from Chuck and his family and have happy memories growing up on Morningside Drive.

Chuck was an Eagle Scout in Troop 212 and received his Eagle at a Court of Honor alongside Martin Rudi, Peter Knarr and

myself in 1977. I have happy memories of Cub Scout meetings in the Hardy's basement. His Mother Nadine was our Cub

Scout Den Mother.She is a wonderful lady. I am very proud of all of Chuck's accomplishments in his professional career which was all news to me. I mourn Chuck's passing and wish his Mother and brother Matt well. God Bless them and give them happiness.

Nadine and family---Jim's response to a letter I sent to him in early 1962 included a paragraph with happy news of your new son Charles. I was happy to share your joy. Charles did much with his life--. My thoughts are with you at this time of loss..

My sincere condolences to Chuck' Family for the loss of Chuck.

I was saddened to hear of Chuck's passing. He was a good kid, a good friend and a good man. I first came to know Chuck in grade school when were teammates on the Red's Little League Team in Iowa City. His Dad was one of the Coaches and volunteered Chuck to play catcher (one of the least fun positions on the team). He was always a sweet kid and a great teammate.

Chuck went on to accomplish many meaningful things, was very accomplished, and left this life way to soon.

We were greatly saddened to read the news that Charles Hardy had passed away. Chuck and his family were our neighbors on Morningside Drive years ago, and we have many fond memories of the Hardy boys and our kids during their childhood years. It was particularly gratifying to read of Chuck’s education and success in his career. Sending our affection and our deepest sympathy to his mother, Nadine, and other surviving family members.
