Joe was born October 6, 1993 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Charles “Chuck” Henderson and Nancy Beyer.
Joe, or “Grandpa Joe”, as he was known to his peers, was a dear man with an old soul. He was intelligent, very kind, quirky and tremendously funny. He loved to laugh and tended to have a smile on his face. He enjoyed travelling and never passed up an opportunity to take the first-class experience. Joe enjoyed nice cars, and the engineering that went into them. He liked politics and the conversations that they created. Joe especially liked watching The Office and Schitt’s Creek. More than anything, Joe loved his family. He liked providing a helping hand, a word of advice or just a smile to those he loved. He will be dearly missed. His memory and legacy will be carried by all who love him.
Joe’s family include his cherished mother and father, Nancy and Chuck; sister, Maria Louise Luz Henderson; cousins, Jennifer, Emily, Christopher, Jacob, Josh, Tom, Day, Sophia, Sanjay, Savati, Aaron, Dana, Stacy and Joshua; aunts and uncles, Jana (the late Jim), David (Janelle), Jane (the late Mike), Mary (Marty) and Debra (Steve), Tim and Amy; cherished extended family, Jordan, Alexa, Cecilia, Layla, Lorylei, Isabel, Josiah, Ellowyn, A.J., Mikey, and Jojo.
Contributions in Joe’s memory may be made to the Preucil School of Music or the CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank. Both these organizations enriched Joe’s life immensely through creating beautiful music and volunteering to help those in need. He has always hoped to further their efforts.
Please continue to keep Joe’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
