Obituary of Carolyn F. Evans

Carolyn Faye Evans, 82 died Wednesday December 28, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Carolyn F. Evans was born April 6, 1940 in Wichita, KS the daughter of Ethan A. and Lucille O. (Burgin) Evans. She attended school in Wichita and high school at Faith Academy in Camdenton, MO. This is where she met Stephen L. Bausch Jr. whom she married. They began farming in Louisa County, IA. Eventually they moved to a farm near Wellman, IA. Carolyn mothered and raised four children whom survive her: Michelle Bausch Lapham (Ryan), Mark Bausch, Julie Finley (Tracy), John Bausch. In her retirement years Carolyn resided in Iowa City. She enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework and crossword puzzles. She was especially skilled with embroidery producing many beautiful works. Carolyn enjoyed family visits and conversation with family and neighbors. For her children she was the listener who brought clarity to the discussion. In addition to her children Carolyn is survived by grandchildren Alicia Hannink, James Hannink, Miranda Finley, Emily Bausch, Chloe Bausch. She is survived by her brother William Gene Evans (Letha). She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stephen L. Bausch Jr., and her brother Allen D. Evans. There will not be a memorial service at this time. A private family internment will take place in the spring at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
