Joyce was my mother’s (Marjory [nee Stoelzing] Peterson) last living first cousin. Joyce’s mother Rena was my maternal grandmother’s sister. Mom often talked about visiting Uncle George and Aunt Rena’s farm. My Uncle Lewis was the oldest of the Wilder/Stoelzing cousins and Joyce was the Tag Along as the youngest! My husband George and I were privileged to get acquainted with Joyce, Deb and Ron on several trips to Iowa City. She and I could and would pour over family history and pictures for hours. It was a treat to sit on the patio/deck water fowl go by and to take walks around the neighborhood. Joyce loved her Lord, life, her family and FOOTBALL. We will often and very fondly recall memories of our visits with her and Deb.
I will always cherish the years both Joyce and Debbie would come visit over Thanksgiving weekend. Playing cards, eating good food (Joyce made the best desserts), and shopping. Joyce will be missed.
Joyce was a wonderful person that enjoyed sharing (Rochester Avenue previously Iowa State Bank/ MidWestOne Bank at present) her banking techniques, duties and stories when she was working here. We loved her giggle and analysis of how banking has changed. She was genuine, caring and fun to be around. My personal condolences to sweet daughter Deb. Deb has been a wonderful daughter and very helpful to Joyce over many years. Joyce will be missed by many. She was a hardworking trailblazer for women in community banking on the eastside of Iowa City!

I will always remember Joyce’s engaging, laugh, and smile. She was my mother, Helen Raders’, good friend and partner in Hawkeye game shenanigans. Joyce was welcoming and kind and very fun. Deb, my deepest condolences for your loss. I miss my mother every day and I know you will miss yours for the rest of your life. Sending love to you and your family. Lou Raders
