Obituary of Renae C. Polton

Renae C. Polton, age 59 of rural Brooklyn died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at her home. Renae Christine Houser was born January 16, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Richard W. and Carol K. (Kolsto) Houser. She married Darrell E. Polton on February 3, 1983, in Iowa City. She has lived her lifetime in the Iowa City area working for over 25 years at Pearson. She enjoyed her simple life, spending time with family and friends at her lake home. Boating, floating, golf carting and her pride and joy, driving her ranger everywhere, sometimes places she should not have gone. But nothing was more special and important than loving her family! Her family includes her daughter, Christine Renae Polton (Jason Witt); grandchildren, Kyler, Emily and Kaitlyn; great-grandson, Jaxson; sister, Rone Cahow; her uncle, Larry Kolsto; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard “Ricky” and sister, Robin Weiland. There will be a time for family and friends to gather to remember and support in memory of Renae from 3 to 6 pm Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation in Iowa City.
