Obituary of Israel S. Pettinger

Israel S. Pettinger, age 47, passed away peacefully from melanoma cancer at his home in North Liberty on February 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Israel was born December 24, 1975 in Houston, Texas, the son of Thomas Pettinger and Jane Hutton. Israel was a kind and loving person. He enjoyed riding his Harley, kayaking, hiking and playing video games. More so, Israel loved his wife, children, and grandchildren deeply. His passing leaves an emptiness in our lives, but his legacy will continue on through all who love him. Israel’s family include his beloved wife of 18 years, Janice; children, Chloe Pettinger, Hayes Pettinger, Brenden Fischels and Madison Fischels; grandchildren, Maverick and one on the way; siblings, Chrystal Salazar Pettinger, Rochelle Pettinger, Wendy Alvarado Hutton, Brenda Pettinger, Thomas Matthew Pettinger and Ryan T. Pettinger; and stepmom, Rosemary Pettinger. A simple cremation has been arranged in accordance with Israel’s wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
