John went to school at home, Hoover Elementary (Iowa City), Fulton Elementary, River Bend Middle School, Fulton High School, University of Iowa, and Kirkwood Community College. He loved learning and was a brilliant student who searched for knowledge, understanding, and truth that he would share with anyone who would listen.
John worked in Clinton (CustomPak, Pizza Ranch, Pizza Hut), Davenport (Davenport West HS), Iowa City (Systems Unlimited, Iowa City West High School), and at home for various online businesses.
He enjoyed all kinds of reading, music, video games, lively discussions of politics and religion, humor, laughter and having fun playing cards and games with those he loved. He also loved his friends and their families. John also cared deeply for everyone in his own family, especially his nieces and nephews. Most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom he wanted others to know and love also.
In recent years John suffered from injuries that occurred in a serious one car accident. Nevertheless he helped care for his parents and supported his family and friends whenever he could, John was gentle, kind, and compassionate to others and generously shared whatever he had with others in need.
John spent his last days on earth praying to his God and Savior Jesus Christ trusting Him to help him and hoping in his promises. Now John is celebrating a wonderful eternity with Jesus and other believers.
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. I Thessalonians 4:13-14
