Channing Nixon

Condolences
Channing was one of the greatest gentlemen I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I was fortunate enough to work with him at Lowe's for a number of years. If you only knew Channing by his list of accomplishments you might have been surprised by his humility and grace but once you actually got to know him you learned that these traits were at the core of the man.
You will be missed my friend.
Channing Nixon was my favorite patient at the VA Hospital. I looked forward to the days he had appointments so I could sit and visit with him. His stories about Gertrude and Little Bit gave everyone a good laugh. He will be greatly missed! Brenda Martens
Channing was an amazing person and friend. I met him while working at Lowe's and he was nothing but kind and amazing. He always made sure to greet me and ask me how my day was, cheering me up when he noticed I was having a bad day. He always told me to pass on hellos to my parents as well after he met them. He was very considerate and compassionate like that. I always made sure to stop and chat with him if he was in the store. A wonderful human being and someone that will be greatly missed.
CJ and I worked together at Lowes for a number of years. I always looked him up whenever I was in the store. A gracious man and great friend.
Channing was a great friend who shared his love and humor with everyone he met. I know he will be welcome with open arms as he enters the gates of heaven. God's speed old friend, you will be remembered forever.
When God created man He desired him to be kind, loving, considerate, compassionate and willing to help those in need. Anyone who new Channing knows He got it right! I will miss those conversations we had at lunches. I always felt I was in the presence of a Godly man. Thank you for your prayers.
A life well lived! Condolences to friends and family of Channing. We will certainly miss his regular presence at Costco in Coralville where many of us came to know him over the years. Such a sweet and funny gentleman.
He was such a sweet man. I enjoyed our visits at Lowe’s and then when he came into Walmart and id see him. He would always brighten your day. He will be missed.
Channing and my husband, Brian, opened and worked at Lowe's together. Brian loved listening to "CJ's" stories and life experiences. Each time I would come in to shop or see Brian, CJ always found me and held my hands when he greeted me. I would smile and always ask how I was doing as well as how things were going with teaching. CJ always asked Brian about me, our dogs, and life in general. Brian and I are saddened to hear of CJ's passing, yet we will always cherish his memory and the caring, selfless, authentic way he lived his life! Blessed are we and all who knew him! <3 Megan (& Brian) Chapman
