Obituary of Trevor Joseph Burrows
Trevor Joseph Burrows,18, of North Liberty, IA passed away on April 8, 2023, as a result of a car accident.
Trevor was born on March 4, 2005, in Iowa City, the son of Jeffrey and Jill (Stumpf) Burrows. He was a senior at Liberty High School. He enjoyed participating in Football and Trap Shooting. After graduating from Liberty High School, he was planning on getting his first apartment and attending Kirkwood Community College, followed by the University of Iowa.
Trevor was always a busy child, hard worker and loved the outdoors. He was currently employed by Scheels, and in the summer he enjoyed working along side family at Stumpf Construction.
Trevor’s smile and magnetic sense of humor brightened up the room. He loved spending time with his family and his friends and was always the life of the party. His recent adventures included a snowmobiling trip to Wyoming with his dad, uncle Chad, and cousin Tate. He was also able to spend quality time with his immediate family and close friends on a senior spring break trip to Cancun.
Trevor was also a genuine and loyal friend. He was the kind of person everyone wanted to be around, and a friend they could trust and confide in. Many hours were spent hiking, listening to music, playing pool, ping pong, and hanging around the bonfire.
He had many passions in life including cheering for the Hawkeyes and KC Chiefs, and spending time at the Goose Bottom cabin where he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and spending time with family.
He was the most loving son to Jill, Jeff, and a protective big brother to Kyla. He often confidently referred to himself as the favorite child, and they all smiled and let him believe it.
Trevor’s family includes his parents Jeff and Jill Burrows; sister, Kyla; maternal grandparents Terry and Mary Jane Stumpf; paternal grandmother Karen Gilson; numerous aunts and uncles Ann and Kevin Dycus, Bradley Burrows, Kelly and Andy Bourquin, Chad and April Stumpf, Jody and Eric Fisher and cousins Zac, Jake, Graciela, Nolan, Louis, Tate, Quinn, Madilyn, Riley, Clara and Griffin.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Don Burrows and Gary Gilson.
His family is thankful he was able to be an organ and tissue donor and give the gift of life to many others.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, April 14, 2023, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville, followed by a time of fellowship in the fellowship hall of the church. Private family burial will take place at the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty overlooking the family home. In lieu of flowers a GoFundMe page has been established, link included here.
