Sending my dearest sympathy and love to you all. This picture of your mom/grandma is so touching! Verla was my first country school teacher. I especially have fondness for this picture. She even boarded at our country farm which was right across the road to the school house. One more special memory is when you look at Verla and Clyde's wedding picture I was one of the flower girls. Verla was my dear neighbor who welcomed me to Iowa. She told me about Creeping Charlie in my lawn and didn’t complain too much when I woke her up at 3 AM to tell her it was snowing. I will miss her sense of humor, her love of dogs (she let me use her fenced in yard to let my dogs stretch their legs) and her grounded views on life. I will miss her terribly but know her offspring will carry parts of her ever onward. Much love. Elaine Himadi
