Obituary of Breanne L. Potter

Breanne L. Potter, age 38 of Amana died Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from complications of health issues.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Oxford United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at the Oxford Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at the church in Oxford.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to support her little boys needs as he grows up.  

Breanne Leigh Potter was born August 28, 1985, in Reno, NV the daughter of Gary and Becci (Hora) Potter.  She graduated from high school in Sioux Falls, SD, and then received her CMA degree.  She had worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for Planned Parenthood, Family Medical Services and Tanager Place all in Cedar Rapids. Breanne was a strong woman, raising her the joy of her life, Emmett; advocating for women’s rights and the many issues facing them on a daily basis. Breanne was a passionate supporter and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.  She loved horror movies, shark week, swimming and kicking some tail whenever Trivia Pursuit came out!

Her family includes her son, Emmett James; parents, Becci & Gary Potter, grandfather, Carson Potter; siblings Amber (Potter) Garcia and Maddi Potter; and 5 nieces and nephews.

She was precede in death by her brother, Matt Potter; grandparents, Ruby Potter and Sandra and George Hora; aunt, Cyndi Hora and uncle, Duaine Potter.
