Philip Arthur Leff

Condolences
Over all the 60+years I've know the Leff family as our family was friends and associates. I have to say I've never met a kinder, more serious ,yet able to share a moment of seriousness that he could laugh with you at the end. The last 3 years plus getting reconnected has been so enriching to my life. I will miss his wave and sparkle in his eye and watch over " his deer"... To Joyce and family much love always. Call if we can be of help..
Iowa City was a better place because of Phil and Joyce. What an example of loving humanity. We all can learn from.
Leann Cortimiglia and John Gross.
Caroline and I send our deepest condolences. He was such a kind and funny man. "Silly Phil" will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Phil. Good memories of chatting with him as we passed on the street and the neighborhood parties....alot of laughs with him around! The times ahead will be difficult without him present but hope the great memories will ease the pain. Phil was a great guy.
I am sorry for your family loss. Jane Zwiener
My experiences with Phil were always those of a very positive nature. Not only because of his humor, his ability to communicate and his always pleasant personality!!!!
My involvement with him began when he was elected as a Director of the Hawkeye State Bank. He was a great Director in every respect and added his humor on occasion, as well. He was one of the best Directors that I was ever associated with in my several years of Bank experience.
Phil was always one of the good guys.....
Our best to Joyce and Family,
Sincerely,
Ralph and Shari Radcliff
Dear Joyce and family, So very sorry for your loss. I will always remember the loyalty and respect that Phil showed us in our adventure to making Iowa City our new home. Ron thought highly of him as a friend and Board Member of Mercy Hospital. I will always cherish the many memories of how you both welcomed us and supported us during Ron’s career. Thank you for your kindness. Sincerely, Helen Ann Reed
Joyce and family,
Mark, Steve and I have such wonderful memories of Phil as a good friend of our parents and as a longtime member of the Hawkeye Fishing Club. You are in our prayers.

Joyce & Adam -
My heartfelt condolences go out to both of you and your families with Phil’s passing. Many special memories spent at your home with Adam growing up. Phil was a very patient and hospitable gentleman (as was Joyce). While I’m certain he will be greatly missed, I hope the memories spent together over the years provide you continuing comfort and joy.
We are so sorry to hear of Phil's passing. He was such a lovely man and a great neighbor to my parents for the last 42 years. He will be greatly missed.
So sorry to hear of your loss Adam. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Heartfelt condolences to the Leff family on the loss of Phil. Our family has many fond and loving memories of going to Bear Island Minnesota with Phil, Joyce and their children as well as The Shank family for vacations. There was always so much laughter and fun together, some of the best years! Phil was a great friend to my parents. Prayers to the Leff family. With love, Jennifer Kacena Frice
My deepest sympathy at the loss of Phil. Our hearts are never prepared for such sorrow. I knew Phil through Cardiac Rehab. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could outrun all of us on the treadmill. He is deeply missed but will always be part of us.
Phil was the best father-in-law a girl could ever have. Being welcomed into the Leff family 46 years ago has been an honor and great source of happiness for me. Phil led his life with humor, a sense of duty to family, friends, and community, and hard work. As a role model for his kids, he was exceptional. He and Joyce raised three amazing kids. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and they in turn adored him. He was modest about all of his accomplishments, and they were many. I will keep all the wonderful memories of him in my heart always. With much love and gratitude.
