Obituary of James N. Jarvis

James N. Jarvis, age 81 of Middleburg, Florida died Friday, June 11, 2004 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Graveside Masonic and Military services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Lorraine Park Cemetery in Baltimore. Visitation will be from 7 to 9pm Tuesday at the Loring-Byers Funeral Home in Baltimore, and from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. A twenty-eight year veteran of the United States Navy, Retiring as a Quarter Master Chief. Jim was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Pickering Lodge No. 146 A.F.& A.M. in Baltimore, OES No. 45 of Green Cove Springs, and the Holiday Rambler R.V. Club. Jim enjoyed the Holiday Rambler Club, traveleing from state to state and meeting all the great friends. He enjoyed singing in the R.V. Choir, and helping out any way that he could. His daily witnessing was sharing his Bible Tracks with everyone who crossed his path And his favorite place to find Jim was in the ice cream area of the R.V. Camps. He leaves a best friend, Doris M. Williams, five children, Ralph D. Jarvis, Barbara Jarvis, Beverly Miller, James N. Jarvis Jr. and Robbin Jarvis; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who loved him, remembering their most memorable moment will be Jim’s “popeye face”
