Condolences
Ira, Ann & Katie, I am so sorry to hear about Virginia. She was a lovely woman and wonderful neighbor. I saw her recently and she was excited about moving to Coralville and being closer to Ann. Please accept my condolences.
I was so sad to see that Virginia died. We were grade school classmates at Horace Mann. Virginia was such an exceptional student and always very nice as well. We were in several grades together. I always remember she had beautiful handwriting. I am so pleased that several of us got together in 2018 in Iowa City since some of us went to different High Schools - Regina and City High. It was not surprising to hear that Virginia had become a doctor and had two lovely daughters and a nice husband. My condolences and wishes for only the happiest of memories for your family.
Sending my condolences to Ann and the entire family. I saw Ann last Monday. Ann was so happy and I enjoyed talking to her so much when I stopped in to see her and her roommates. My heart goes out to you all. So sorry for your loss. Virginia was an amazing lady who will be missed by many.

Virginia was a brilliiant and wonderful person. I enjoyed so much talking to her at our recent 60th reunion. I was very impressed with everything she had accomplished in her life.
I am sure she is enjoying the rapture of God.

Steve and all the family sorry for your loss. You will all be in my prayers. Keep all the good memories in your hearts forever. God Bless you all.
Dick and family, we are so very sorry for your loss of Virginia. Unfortunately, I only met her a couple of times, but reading other people's memories has been a real treasure. Virginia was obviously such a blessing to so many people in so many ways.
Wishing you all peace.

I had the great good fortune of having Virginia as my attending “teacher” at the Sacramento VA when I was an endocrine fellow in the mid-1990’s. She taught by example, by carrying herself with grace and poise, by treating all patients with dignity and respect and unconditional kindness, by her encyclopedic grasp of medical knowledge and her down-to-earth way of teaching that to us. I remember watching with deep admiration as she, in a quiet and patient voice, calmed an extremely angry veteran. He came to us yelling, but left after she talked him down, with a smile on his face. It was magic!
We were colleagues later, our offices right across the hall from each other. We became good friends and collaborators. She would talk about her family often, and I could feel her deep love and pride when she spoke of Ira, Katie and Ann, always with that beautiful smile of hers. No one cared about her patients more, was more dedicated to them, than Virginia. She worked long hours, sometimes late into the evening, and came in on weekends. She knew some of her patients for many years, and oftentimes I heard laughter coming from across the hall. Sometimes big bouquets of roses would be delivered to her very “lived in” office, testament to the love and gratitude her patients felt for her. They knew what an exceptional physician she was. After she retired and moved to Iowa, we kept in touch by annual Christmas cards. I loved hearing about her latest adventures and looked forward to her family photo every year. I am grateful to have known Virginia White, to have been touched by her kindness, her compassion, her exceptional professionalism, her flawless integrity and her capacity for love. To Virginia's family, I am so very sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for the entire family. I can remember my mom and Aunts calling her “Dr. White”. They were so proud of her accomplishments. She was a kind, gentle soul and she will be missed. I wish you peace and solace.
Goodness, we just saw Katie, and it just seems too soon for Virginia to leave us. Virginia was a great trailblazer for women, and so genuinely kind. She will be so missed. When I was a little girl I always looked up to Virginia and her accomplishments and determination to succeed and help others. So sweet, beautiful, and understated. Love to all of you. Take care during this challenging transition.
So sorry to the whole family! Virginia was a wonderful person.
and a trail blazer in so many ways as a woman. Becoming a doctor, caring for her special needs daughter, and just being gracious and kind. She will be sorely missed. Praying for all of you.
