Sally and I were good friends in jr high and early high school. We spent many Sunday evenings together at the Roller Rink in Cedar Falls, her mom would drive and we would go together. Sally was a very good skater as was her mom Betsy. I have a lot of good memories of times spent together during those years. I was also the maid of honor at her wedding. We lost touch a bit as we got older. But we still checked in occasionally, as she would send pictures of her grand babies via facebook. She was so proud of her children and her grandchildren and told me all about them. I will miss you Sally. You were a very good friend! Rest in peace.

Sally and I met when we were teens and our parents were dating. We became stepsiblings eventually and she was the best kind of stepsister one can imagine. Sweet and funny and kind to my dad always and he thought the world of her and all her family. She loved her grandchildren too and liked to share stories about them. They brought her joy during her illness.
