Obituary of Pamela Hime

Pamela Sue (Maedge) Hime, age 66, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in Iowa City in her home under Hospice care after a long battle with health issues. Visitation will be held on January 13^th, 2024, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City . Luncheon will be from 2:00PM to 4:00 PM Saturday January 13^th, 2024, at the Coralville, American Legion, 901 2nd St, Coralville, IA 52241. Family burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.  A memorial fund has been established in her memory through the funeral home and with the Go Fund Me Account. Pamela Hime was born April 20, 1957, in East. St. Louis, IL the daughter of Charles and Patricia (Bohnenstiehl) Maedge Sr, of Troy, IL. On February 10, 1984, she married Claude E. Hime in Iowa City. She is Preceded in death of her husband Claude, 2005; two Daughters, Debrah Hime 1991 and Jamie (Pratt) Harnard 2017; Her Father Charles, 2020, Her Mother Patricia, 2023; Son in law Terry Swartzendruber, 2023.

Even though she had hard times in her younger years she preserved and made a new life worth living. Pam lived at Regency for 21 years. She was the ultimate Neighbor & Mother Hen of the court. Pam organized so many parties, Potlucks and get togethers over the years. AND made the best potato salad.  Everyone was welcome! Pam liked to have fun, laugh and joke around. She had a sailor mouth and come backs off the wall!! Bon fires, fireworks, Haunted Maze and a swimming pool were guaranteed to be in her front yard. Pam Loved ALL her Children and especially her Grandchildren! She will be remembered fondly by most.

Daughter – Stephanie Strode, of Ponton Beach, IL, Children, Justin Strode (Hayley Oller), Jenna Strode (Jordan Polkey), Jake Strode (Chloe Ochoa), Children, Kobe Strode, Milo Strode. Son – Jason (Misti) Pratt of Troy, IL, Children, Owens and Wyatt. Son – Craig Pratt of Perryville, MO, Children, Taylor Sanders (Tyler Bader), Kayden Pratt. Daughter – Jamie Harnard deceased, Children, Jack, Chet Smart, Colten Smart, Corbyn Smart. Son – Vincent (Nicole) Pratt of O’Fallon, IL, Child, Hunter. Daughter – Dawn Hime (Terry Swartzendruber – deceased) of Iowa City, IA, Children, Brittany Hime, Elijah Hime and Jasmine Hime, Madison Swartzendruber, Elizabeth Swartzendruber, Children, Melaya, Omara, Olyana Bullocks Daughter – Jessica (Christopher) Hime-Smull, Children, Hannah Hime-Smull, Alexander Hime-Smull, Noah Hime-Smull. Siblings – Jennie (Mike) Myers of Edwardsville, Il, Charles (Cindy) Maedge of Troy, IL, Carol (Donnie) Sisson of Edwardsville, IL, Cindy (Jon) Knauss of Kirksville, MO, Tammy (Matt) Livington of Tennessee, Mark (Christina) Maedge of North Carolina.
