Kellie M. Haigh
1980 - 2024
Condolences
I think my mom (Marge Haigh Roenfeldt) who was Kellie’s great Aunt (Sister to her Dad) summed up Kellies personality.
Kellie was a “old soul”. Perfect analogy.
I’m sure Kellie was greeted by her in heaven.
This has been devisating by our whole family.
Miss you and will always love you,
Your cousin Sue Roenfeldt Schwager, Jen (Padilla) Schwager (Dominick and Kaitlyn) and John Schwager all living in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
So sorry to hear of the loss of Kellie. She and I graduated in the same class from Indianola and went on the Iowa Ambassadors of Music together in ‘96. I have fond members of the 4 of us together on that trip.

When my daughter passed away in December I received a sympathy card from Kellie and Jimmy. Inside Kellie had written the most beautiful, warm, loving message. Her kind and caring spirit on display in those words . We're saddened by the news of her passing and wish to convey our heartfelt sympathies to Nancy and Bob and Kellie's entire family
Kellie was fearless. She led with her heart and her passion. She was an amazing friend and I am overwhelmed by her loss in my life. I was/am in awe of how savvy she was. When the privatized medicaid company in IA threatened to stop services, she read the agreement between the company and the state of IA to better advocate. She helped me think through so many of life's challenges with deep listening and kindness.
One of the things I will miss the most is her laughter. One of the first times I visited Kellie, we had seen in the paper that a conservation group was reintroducing buffalo in an area not to far from where she lived. Since neither of us had seen a buffalo we decided to go find them and got hopelessly lost (pre cell phones and gps) and never saw the buffalo. A year or two later we were on a road trip, we were tired and cranky, and pulled into a restaurant to eat. When we walked in, there was a giant, stuffed buffalo. We just laughed and laughed. We could barely eat because we kept cracking each other up about how we had just not driven far enough, on and on...
Kellie was fiercely devoted to her furbabies and family. On a recent call she was telling me about how Nancy and Bob had tried figure out a padding option in the restroom because of a recent injury and how it kinda worked, but she was so touched that they tried. And she lovingly laughed describing it to me.
Kellie was devoted to Jimmy and loved him with her whole heart. Kellie had a special relationship with Nancy, finding ways to have fun and bring joy to this sometimes tough life.
We met when Kellie was still in high school at a youth activist conference hosted by the American Friends Service Committee and have been tight ever since. I am sad for all of us, but I am also sad for the world that Kellie is no longer in it.
Kellie was such a sweet girl when we first met her. Quietly loving and kindness to all. We will miss her presence dearly.

Kellie you were such a wonderful person & wife. I wish I had been a better husband to you. I learned so much about love from you. As I told you in 2007 and I vouch for all the way to the end, you were always such a compassionate & generous person. You spoiled me beyond imagination. You loved me, you loved my sons, and you loved our grandkids. I was blessed to be able to love you and call you my wife these 14 1/2 years.
