Keith was born May 15, 1948, in Sioux City, the son of Melvin Robert and Arlene Marguerite (Hoopingarner) Cardwell. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from East High School.

As a young man Keith worked at Weatherwax Clothing Store and met his future wife, Kathryn Louise Miller. Kathy asked him to help her purchase a car and the rest was history. They married on April 27, 1968. They made their home in Sioux City and raised 5 children.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Keith enjoyed attending the congregation in Sioux City. Keith spent many years helping others learn about God’s Kingdom. He was affectionately known as “Mr. Keith” in the community. He had a generous spirit, and this drew many people to him. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his strong belief in the future resurrection where he will enjoy perfect health with loved ones.

His hobbies included listening to music, golfing with his brother and friend (Roger), and working on cars. After work and on the weekends, he could often be found working on his cars and listening to his large collection of music.

Keith was hired at IBP on March 8, 1971. Keith gained respect for his excellent job in coordinating shipping and production. He worked at IBP (Tyson) until his retirement.
