Bayard Bosserman

Condolences
Please let me add my condolences to the many you will receive. Bayard was a true gentleman, a supporter of the Arts, and a source of inspiration to me as I ease into retirement. What a life! His long walks to and from the VA hospital for work certainly contributed to his longevity as did his vigorous pursuit of socializing with friends through Bridge. He and my mother were bridge partners for many years and he taught her about Bluegrass and The Burlington Street Boys, professional Baseball, rhubarb pie-making, and how to live with grace.
To Uncle Bayard’s Family, sincere sympathies. Rich and I enjoyed visiting he and aunt Mildred. We were even lucky to play bridge with them which was an experience. Please know that we sent a donation to OSU in his name. Love to all. Richard and Janet Ashe.
Dear Bosserman family: I read in the news paper about your dad's passing. I have been wondering over the last few years where he was. I remember both your parents fondly from the first time we met on Friendship Street in Iowa City in March of 1966. We had many of card playing nights at both our houses and with the group of us, your dad and mom, Edwards and the Whiteses. We are at Stirlingshire now , which is located on Kennedy Parkway in Coralville. Ilene has dementia and I don't think we will be able to attend the service but will be with you in thought and spirit. Your family is one of our favorite people we discovered in Iowa City. I consider Bayard to be an upstanding family man and a devote American. My God bless him as he goes on his way.

I didn't know Mr. Bosserman well, but my dad, Jim Croker played tennis with him for years at the Uof I tennis facility. Dad also played well into his 80s and was a WWII navy veteran. On occasion I would sub for them if someone in the group couldn't play. I recently played with a group who knew Mr. Bosserman, Verne Nelson and Dick Mason. Our condolences to the family.
We are so deeply saddened to hear of Bayard’s passing. A true Buckeye and farm friend for life. What a legacy he has left in his sweet children and blessing he will continue to be for students at Ohio State. Our thoughts and prayers with Tim, Anne and all of his children at this time.
I'm sure there will be toe tappin' from Bayard tonight as we gather at Wildwood to celebrate an amazing man!
Condolences extended to all who knew him♡

We were saddened to hear of Bayard's passing. Bayard played duplicate bridge for many years in the local Iowa City bridge clubs. He will be fondly remembered as a very good bridge player, and an utterly delightful human being who did everything with grace, humor and respect. We will miss him. Our deepest condolences to his family.
Bayard was a dear neighbor who consistently walked his dog(s) by our place and would stop to chat as he entered Hickory Hill Park. He had a gentle manner and loved to talk about many things, especially his family, former dogs, military experience, and life in general. He was very friendly and had a quick smile. We loved his visits and will miss knowing he is no longer here on earth to brighten someone’s day. We trust that he is in a better place. He certainly modeled how to live life gently, with time and interest for all who crossed his path.
Bayard will be missed.
He was a great neighbor and a wonderful role model of how to live life well.
I often told my students about his amazing attitude, wide social circle, and how active he was playing tennis several times a week until he got shingles, I believe at age 89. He walked regularly in Hickory Hill Park and greeted us with, "Isn't it a beautiful day" regardless of the weather. I was impressed with his regular dinner twice a month along with Bluegrass at the Mill and then at Wildwood. Everyone had fun as he joined a 21 year old woman and her friends for a photo last year at Wildwood during a Bluegrass performance.
Our thoughts are with his family.
