Celebration of Life
Condolences
We have just learned of Vicki's passing and are so saddened to know we have lost a very great lady. Brad and I shared many community theatre events and shows, many great Christmas parties, and countless wonderful memories with Vicki. She was a talented musician, a consummate music educator, and a fine, fine human being. Vicki left a a lasting impression on so many. She will, without a doubt, be well remembered.
Music has always been one of the most important aspects of my life, and Mrs. Arnold saw that in me before I fully realized it myself. She encouraged me to learn to play multiple instruments, starting with the trumpet. I've always been a shy singer, but she talked me into trying out for the Iowa City Girls Choir when I was 10, and making it into that choir is an accomplishment I'm still proud of at age 28. I'm so sad to hear of her passing, as I was just wondering about her a week or so ago. Not all teachers have the impact on a student's life that she had on mine, and I'm forever grateful that she helped foster such a strong appreciation for music in me. I remember how exciting it was to get to play with the keyboards in class, learning about the didgeridoo, and singing the 50 states song! Condolences to her family. She will be missed. ❤️
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the awesome music programs at Mark Twain school and visiting with your Mom at Betty's. Several months ago Jane and I had a nice visit with her at Mexico Lindo.
Vicki and I have been friends since 7th grade. I love teaching piano independently but we had lots more in common. More recently she introduced me to the game of Sudoku and mystery writers, especially Donna Andrews. She loaned me one of the Andrews series and was generous in many ways. I will miss her tremendously.
I remember visiting with Vicki at Shimek Elementary. She was always full of enthusiasm and joy! Please know that het family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Such a warm and caring person. I started my music teaching career when she was the elementary music coordinator. She was very supportive, energetic, and inspiring.

Vicky introduced music to me in elementary at Mark Twain. She was enthusiastic about all genres and was a beautiful person.
We sang with Vicky in St Andrew Presbyterian Church choir for many years. She was always a delightful person & touched so many lives sharing her musical gifts. Our deepest sympathy to her children & family.

Vicki was the curriculum coordinator and my new teacher mentor when I first started teaching. She was a great support to me as I started my career and did so much for our general music program. I most recently ran into her while ushering at the CCPA and really enjoyed being able to reconnect. My condolences to her family, I know she will be missed.
