Obituary of Judie Marie Jensen
Judie Marie (Parker) Jensen a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday October 13th at the age of 74.
Judie was born in Cantril, IA on April 20th, 1950. The daughter of Buddy Parker and Sue Parker Gough. She grew up in Iowa City, IA and attended City High School.
Judy married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Bill Jensen on July 11, 1970. Together, they raised 2 children: Bob and Tony and she was the neighborhood mom to many, many more.
Judie was a dedicated homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her family. She was known for her kindness, generosity, patience, and strength. She loved spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies and times cherished were spent shopping and having lunch with friends and family, quilting with Bill’s grandma, playing games, and reading.
Judie is survived by her husband, Bill Jensen, her children, Bob and Amy Jensen of Iowa City, IA and Tony and Lisa Jensen of Cedar Bluff IA. Her grandchildren, Zane Jensen (Yesenia Sanchez), Blain Jensen (Adeline Murray-Cadwallader), Lane Jensen (Ayanna Alvarez) Parker and Bree Jensen, and Lauren Jensen (Jaycob Griffith), her great-grandchildren, Islah, Aspen, Vega, and Jude. Her mother Sue Gough of Iowa City, IA, her two sisters, Pat and Harvey Witzenburg (Eric and Bryan) of Onalaska, WI and Kathy Wittenburg (Caleb) of Lincoln, NE and step siblings Nancy Voss (Mandy) of Iowa City, IA, Kathryn and Mike Banowitz of Lost Nation, IA and John and Shirley Gough (Ben and Katie) of Greensboro, NC
Preceded in death by her father, Buddy Parker grandparents Bernie and Pearl Lunsford, and nephew Timothy Wittenburg.
A celebration of life will be held on October 20th from 12 to 4pm at Saddlebrook Club House, 120 Paddock Blvd, Iowa City, IA.
In lieu of flowers: donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in her honor.
Judie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
